About Naari Pad Bank

Naari Pad Bank is a compassionate initiative dedicated to supporting unemployed and underprivileged women and girls by promoting menstrual hygiene, awareness, and dignity. With a mission to ensure that no one is held back due to the lack of basic hygiene products, Naari Pad Bank provides affordable membership, monthly distribution of sanitary pads, and community-based education programs to break the stigma around menstruation. Definitions

Society : means the Naari Pad Bank.

Governing Body : means the body elected by General Body of the society for the management of the society.

Financial Year : means 1st April to 31st March

General Body : means Meeting of all regular memberof the society.

Office Bearer : means President, Vice President, Secratary, Joint-Secratary, Treasurer .

Act : means Society Registration Act 21, 1860

Membership

  • Affordable Empowerment: Membership is available for just ₹5, ensuring that financial constraints never block access to dignity and opportunity.
  • Access to Free Sanitary Pads: Members receive regular distributions of hygienic sanitary pads, promoting menstrual health and awareness.
  • Health & Hygiene Awareness: Regular workshops are conducted on menstrual hygiene, personal care, and women’s health.
  • Skill Development Opportunities: Members may be enrolled in training sessions like tailoring, handicrafts, beauty courses, and more to help them become financially independent.
  • Dignity Kits Distribution: Periodic distribution of kits that include soaps, undergarments, sanitary pads, and other basic needs.
  • Community Support Network: Builds a sisterhood of support where women uplift one another, share knowledge, and stand united.
  • Counseling and Guidance: Access to basic mental health counseling, legal awareness, and rights-based education.
  • Employment Assistance: The foundation also aims to connect members with local job opportunities, self-employment schemes, or government welfare programs.

Functions & Powers

  • Social Welfare & Development:
    • Provide education, healthcare, nutrition, and basic amenities to underprivileged communities.
    • Work for the upliftment of women, children, elderly, disabled, and marginalized groups.
  • Awareness & Advocacy:
    • Raise awareness on social issues such as gender equality, child rights, health, environment, etc.
    • Advocate for policy changes and support implementation of government schemes.
  • Capacity Building:
    • Conduct training programs, workshops, and seminars to develop skills and knowledge in target groups.
    • Empower individuals to become self-reliant through vocational training and entrepreneurship support.
  • Disaster Relief & Emergency Aid:
    • Provide immediate support such as food, water, clothing, and medical aid during natural disasters, pandemics, or conflicts.

Source Of Income

  • Donations from Individuals:
    • Regular or one-time donations from the public.
    • Fundraising campaigns through online platforms, events, or door-to-door drives.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Funds:
    • Companies provide financial support under their CSR obligations as per the Companies Act (in countries like India).
  • Government Grants & Schemes:
    • Central, state, or local governments offer project-based or operational grants to registered NGOs.
  • International Funding Agencies:
    • Grants and support from organizations like UNICEF, WHO, UNDP, World Bank, USAID, etc.
    • Requires FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) registration in India.
  • Membership Fees:
    • NGOs may charge a nominal fee for membership (e.g., ₹5 for Naari Pad Bank), which contributes to their operational costs.

Meeting Of Governing Body

  • Purpose:The Governing Body meeting is held to review, plan, and decide on major administrative, financial, and strategic matters related to the NGO’s functioning.

Key Agenda of the Meeting:

  • Review of Previous Meeting Minutes:
    • Confirmation and approval of the minutes of the last governing body meeting.
  • Activity & Project Report:
    • Presentation of completed, ongoing, and upcoming projects.
    • Discussion on program outcomes, achievements, and challenges.
  • Financial Overview:
    • Approval of audited financial statements.
    • Review of income, expenditure, and grant utilization.
    • Budget planning and fundraising updates.

Amendments in Rules & Regulations

Any amendment to the Rules and Regulations of the Society shall first be proposed and passed by a simple majority of the Governing Body members present and voting. The proposed amendment must then be ratified by a three-fifths (3/5) majority of the General Body members present at a duly convened meeting.

Audit Of Acounts

  • The Treasurer of the Society shall be responsible for maintaining proper and up-to-date records of all income and expenditure, along with necessary vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents. The accounts of the Society shall be audited annually by a Chartered Accountant or recognized auditor appointed by the General Body during its annual meeting.

  • In the event that the Inspector General of Registration deems it necessary to conduct a special audit, he may appoint a recognized auditor for this purpose. The audit fee and associated expenses shall be borne by the Society.

Others

Any matter relating to the affairs of the Society which is not expressly provided for in these Bye-laws or the Rules and Regulations framed hereunder shall be dealt with in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act No. 21 of 1860) and the Jharkhand Society Registration Rules framed thereunder.
